I Have a New Camera!

Tue Oct 23, 2007, 4:28 PM
I have recently purchased a Canon Digital Rebel XTi, and as I slowly come to terms with learning how to use it, I will be posting the results here much more regularly than I have been in the past year or so. Please feel free to comment as you wish, any advice is welcome.

Well, it's been another six months, so I guess I'm

I feel terribly guilty if I don't update this here thingy every six months. Since it's coming up on it, here's my contribution.

It's been six months since the last update... anyone want to put money on whether or not it'll be another six before I update again?

It's Not My Fault!

I was tagged by ~LadyBlakeney to do one of those "things about yourself" jobs, so here goes. Any blame is on her, though I will gladly accept any credit. :-)

I'm supposed to tell you six strange things about myself, then pass it on to six other people.

1. I once totalled a 1988 Ford Thunderbird with my head.

2. I have, on occasion, taken sexually-themed pictures of confectionery.

3. I dislike shaving immensely, yet keep my head shaved.

4. I own a phenomenonal vacuum cleaner.

5. My older brother made me listen to the Bee Gees as a child, and I HATED it.

6. I recently polished the scratches out of the head of my hammer.

I'm not sure I can think of 6 people that would actually complete this one, but here goes anyway.

Six months hence...

Mon Mar 6, 2006, 6:59 PM
Sweet sassy molassy, it's been six months since I updated this little journal thingymadooey. I can tell that it's eminently popular given that nobody has commented on the lack of updating. :P

My submissions have been somewhat sparse of late, partly due to a lack of time, partly due to laziness, and partly due to a lack of inspiration. This is something I hope to rectify soon, if only by forcing myself to go out and shoot some pictures. Hopefully something good comes up.

In the meantime, I want to feature a few of my absolute favourites from my gallery. I actually have several of these haging on my walls (which proves that I'm a wanker), and I've even conned a few people into buying some of them. HopefullyI'll be adding some good stuff to my gallery soon, but until then, in no particular order, here they are...

The Return of the Gallery

Sat Sep 3, 2005, 4:07 PM
Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run...

Today marks the return of my gallery from the digital storage bin. I had been hiding it as a form of protest over the dismissal and apparent coverup of °jark. However, now that $spyed has at least publicly acknowledged that the event did indeed occur, and made an effort to recognize the contributions that °jark has made to the site over the years, I feel that I can put my photos back on display.

There often comes a point where you have to either be willing to fight to the death for something, or accept a less than ideal outcome, because it's the best you're going to get. I think this case definitely falls into the latter category. I recall a time not too long ago when I was having a rough period with school, and the way things were being done. I was ready to take down the whole university and public school system if I had to, but a prof of mine phrased it perfectly... "Is this really the hill you want to die on?" Of course, he was right, it wasn't the hill on which I wanted to die, so I accepted the situation for what it was. That doesn't change the fact that the situation was bad, but it wasn't going to change, no matter what I did.

Anyway, my stuff's back, with hopefully more to come soon, and continue to watch this space where I will showcase some excellent work from some of the fantastic artists I've come across.

This is where the footer goes.

I'm sorry to have wasted your time by typing that in there. I also apologize if you found my previous apology disingenuous. It was, get over it. :-)
